Day 10 – Crestview to Niceville

Anthem of the day:

Real short day today. Tried to get some riding in, but another dose of freezing rain made me hightail it off the road. Knees were really bothering me today, hooked up with a bike shop and did a fitting, apparently my seat was way too high and my bike is the wrong size for me. Makes sense, it’s my mom’s bike from around 30 years ago. Hoping that some of these adjustments will make for a more comfortable ride. I’d hate to have an injury affect my ride.

Shout-out to Gary at Alpine Bicycles for all the help and his expertise. Gary is a member of the Black Dragon Society and is a super interesting guy. Definitely ask me about him next time you see me.

Eglin Air Force Base! My mind returned to 1988 when I spent time there in the military and then again during my Southern Tier ride in 2018. Wish I was with you. While your ride brings back so many amazing memories for me, you are creating your own that will last a lifetime! Keep smiling!
